Preparing For Moving Day

When you are in the process of planning a move, it’s always a great idea to prepare yourself a little bit in advance.  There are preparations you should consider that can be started as far as a month in advance.  At Transtar Moving Systems, we want you to have a very smooth moving day, so here are descriptions of some preparations that you can consider one day prior to moving day.

  • If you have any items that the movers won’t be taking because they are important documents, necessities, personal items, or items that the movers simply can’t take due to restrictions, then separating all of these items from the rest of your packed goods and placing them in a designated area would be in your best interest.  Just make your Transtar driver aware of the location of your goods to avoid any confusion.  This will prevent the movers from taking your designated items onto the moving truck.
  • If you hired professional packers to pack your belongings for you, then it may be in your best interest to clear countertops and tabletops of any items that you don’t want to be packed away.  The crew will be working quickly, so you don’t want them to accidently pack away something that you still need.
  • Keep your cleaning supplies, toiletries, and coffee pot in a special box to be loaded last, that way it will be the first box off the truck for your convenience.
