Hunger is a problem in America, particularly in today's world! An even bigger concern is the food that is wasted daily, and in a variety of ways. This is especially true when a family is moving and has leftover food that cannot be transported by their residential moving company. In the busy days before the moving company arrives, it may seem easier to simply throw unwanted food items away, even though this is wasteful.
Thankfully, there is a better solution for both the family that is moving and the company offering moving services - a program known as "Move for Hunger."
What Is Move For Hunger?
Move for Hunger is a nonprofit organization devoted to preventing food waste, while helping community food banks provide for those who need it most. Move for Hunger works alongside moving companies across the U.S. to collect undesired, non-perishable food items, and deliver them to local neighborhood food pantries.
Partnering With Move For Hunger
Transtar Moving Systems is proud to announce they have partnered with Move for Hunger to become a contributing moving company. They are collecting donations to be distributed for donation right in their local community. Any donations will be delivered monthly to the Food Bank of South Jersey.
How To Partner With The Move For Hunger Program
Donating to the Move for Hunger program is easy to do, and something Transtar hopes its residential moving customers will consider when preparing for their move. Simply pack any unopened, canned goods and boxed food items and label the boxes as "food donations. On moving day, the movers will take any donations back to the moving company offices. In the case of Transtar Moving Systems, donations are then delivered once a month to the Food Bank of South Jersey. It really is that simple!
As a leader in the moving services industry, Transtar also hopes to become a leader in compassion by encouraging residential moving customers to help fight hunger by donating their unwanted food items. Join us in supporting Move for Hunger, and help eliminate the problem of hunger in America with your food donation today!
